How long will it take to complete the monument?

The whole process of choosing the design and style of the monument and constructing the monument can take up to 3 months or more.


How much should I spend?

Prices can vary greatly from a small standard lawn to a full monument. The price of a monument is dependent on a number of factors and usually start at around $1,100 for a basic standard lawn construction.


What types of materials are available for monument construction?

Granite, Marble, Sandstone and Granolite (rendered concrete) are the most common materials used. Granite being the most commonly chosen for its durability, but a combination of materials can reduce the cost.


What questions should I ask about quality?

The materials used to build monuments are commonly graded on the basis of durability. Characteristics such as colour and the thickness of the stone are variables that impact on the price.  Ask and compare on colour, grade and thickness.


Who is responsible for the monument once it is constructed?

Once your monument has been built you are responsible for the future maintenance and upkeep of the monument. Our monument’s are subject to a 25 year warranty on all joinery and workmanship, however we cannot be held responsible for the natural depletion of the stone.


What about different religious beliefs?

We can tailor the monument to your cultural and religious needs. Inscriptions in all languages can be produced.


What does the 25 year warranty include?

Our 25 year warranty includes all works done, excluding granolite constructed works and some restorations (when working with, and limited to, old materials).


Who is permitted to construct a monument?

To construct a monument, the permission of the registered grave owner needs to be obtained. Different cemeteries have different regulations in regards to who is allowed to construct a monument on their site. Therefore it is important to ensure the stonemason is permitted to work in the chosen cemetery.


What do I do if my monument is in a heritage listed area?

Any work carried out in a heritage area must comply with the National Trusts' Guidelines for Cemetery Conservation. In some instances, a request must be made in writing to the National Trust before any work is carried out. Please call us to discuss your requirements.
